Winter Dance 2012 Review
Saturday 21st January 2012
Southend Carnival's held its first event of the year 2012, it's annual winter dance was held on the evening of Saturday 21sy January 2012 at St Mary's C of E Primary school
As in previous years John Haylock from Maldon Carnival hosted a excellent evening with the music provided by Southend Carnival's own DJ Ian Jones
The following Carnival Courts from across the south were in attendance were in attendance and took part in q Court of Courts competition
Ashingdon,
Basildon,
Burnham ,
Enfield,
Hornsey
Maldon,
Stanford and Corringham,
Wickford
and Witham
Also present were representives from the National Carnival Guild
Southend Carnival wishes to thank all these courts for their attendance
In a change to previous years the first order of business was to present cheques to our chosen charities, Representives from the RNLI southend and Peaceful Place were on hand to receive their donations
The Court of courts competition was held for the
9 visiting courts, judged by the Mayor of Southend Councillor David Norman and
his wife Jane Norman along with former Southend Carnival Queens Joanne and Rachael ,
as ever they
all said what a hard job it was and it was a close result
In Third Place was Wickford Carnival Court
In Second Place was Ashingdon Carnival Court
and in First Place was Maldon Carnival Court
Building on successful events of past years this has now become an annual fixture in the carnival calendar.
